Goals

For over 75 years, Buffs for Christ has existed to help students grow in their relationship with Christ and prepare them to live out their faith in every season of life. Our mission is centered around three primary goals:

Helping Students Come to Know Christ

College is often a season of searching — for identity, purpose, belonging, and direction. We believe true peace and lasting hope are found only in Jesus Christ. Our desire is that every student who walks through our doors encounters the love of Christ, grows in faith, and experiences the abundant life found in Him.

Jesus said, “I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly” (John 10:10). He also declared, “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost” (Luke 19:10). In John 17:3, Jesus defines eternal life this way: “This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.”

Equipping Students to Share the Gospel

We believe every Christian is called to make Christ known. Through discipleship, teaching, and mentorship, we seek to equip students to confidently live out and share their faith on campus, in their relationships, and wherever God leads them. Our ministry is strongest when students actively serve and influence others for Christ in their everyday lives.

Jesus commanded His followers, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations” (Matthew 28:19–20). Paul reminds believers in 2 Corinthians 5:20, “Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us.”

Preparing Students for Lifelong Ministry

Our goal is not only to encourage faith during the college years, but to prepare students for a lifetime of service to God. Whether in church leadership, the workplace, the home, or the community, we want students to see their lives as opportunities for ministry and to use their gifts to serve Christ wherever they are called.

Ephesians 4:11–12 teaches that God equips His people “for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ.” We desire to help students discover their gifts, grow in spiritual maturity, and faithfully serve Christ in every season of life.
